Retro with Courtney

Courtney has been helping around the studio this summer and learning all she can. Her Aunt bought her lessons so that she will be ready for GlenOak photo class this year. Today’s lesson was using her film camera! I must say, I haven’t picked up a film camera since 2001, it was a real treat! The focusing screen, hard to tell with the longer lens what’s focused and then you have to remember to cock the shutter. I was amazed that they are requiring her to shoot film, I learned on film, transparency and shot with a 4x5 view camera! We shot Fuji 400 and our next roll will be BXW! We both had fun, it was revisiting the past for me and she was learning the way it used to be!
